birthday card
I just LOVE this card!! I made it for a family member and she totally totally loved it!! The set is from Stampin' Up, and I coloured her with my copics. It is hard to see but I also added some sparkle to the mug and to her hair. I love the way it turned out. It has been so LONG since I have posted on my blog, but sometimes life just gets away from me. And the summer is always a busy time with family ... lots of vacations and travelling going on but I AM getting a little bit of time to scrap and make a few cards at least!! ENJOY your summer!!

Sketch and Stash Challenge 29
For this weeks Sketch and Stash challenge we had an AMAZING sketch! I LOVED the sketch! So .... I used one of my new stamps, I got this one from the Town Scrapper, The image is called Rakle Sitter the company is called dekorative motivstempler (I think?). I saw this simple and elegant stamp and I just HAD to have it! I thought that the image is so versatile and perfect. I stamped the image on Bristol Smooth paper, and coloured her with my copics. When I saw this image I thought of my oldest daughter, not sure why but I did, I coloured the image in her likeness, giving her red hair and smooth soft skin, her favorite colours are pink and purple, and I made the clothes in her favorite colours!
Around the image I used my little finger dabber with some stampin up ink to make the image "pop". All the paper that I used for this card was from my stash! I love being able to use up some paper from my stash ... makes me smile!! I pop-dotted the image ontop of the the pink textured cardstock to give the card some depth. I love this image ... I think it is going to be one of my favorites for sure!! Thanks for looking!!

Mojo Monday 125 and Humble Pie
I absolutely LOVE the sketch for this week's Mojo Monday challenge, for the Humble Pie challenge we had to use a die ... any kind of die!! SO I used some of my new rubber that I purchased from The TownScrapper, this amazing image is from The Greeting farm, her name is Sassy Suzi ... as soon as I saw her I knew what I wanted to do with her! I coloured her with my copics and on the cuffs and the bottom I used my Perfect Puff for the 3-D look! I also pop dotted my image for some added depth! For my die, I used my nesties right under the bow ... isn't it just awesome!! I love the way this card turned out! I used a variety of scraps from my pile so I have no idea what company the paper is all from ... sorry my bad!! lol I just love this sketch and my new image from Phebe's store ... Thank you Phebe for providing such wonderful products!! I just love it!!!

Sketch and Stash Challenge 28
My Father-in-law's birthday was this week, unfortunately I am a little late in making his card ... but good things take time!! LOL ... I completed his card using the sketch from this weeks challenge at Sketch and Stash. My father-in-law is an avid golfer, so this cute image is from High Hopes and works perfectly!! I coloured him with my copics, I added a little shimmer with my spica on the face of the golf club, tassles of the golf shoes, top of the hat and a little on the edges of the brim of the hat as well. On the golf ball, I used some crysal effects to make the ball stand out a little. I created the grass and sky freehand since it looked way to bare just with a white background. Unfortunately, the background paper had no information printed on the back as to what company made it, and since it was just in my stash I have no idea what company it is from. I co-ordinated the DP with a green, grey and carmel coloured Cardstock to help accent. I pop dotted the image on top of the carmel cardstock to give it the extra 3-D effect. I absolutely LOVED this sketch ... thank you so much for the fun challenge!!

my crafty daughters card
So my oldest, who is now 6 (almost 7 as she will tell you!), LOVES to create cards and little notes. The best part is she loves to use my stamps and my markers, BUT she knows she is NOT allowed to touch my copics, she is only allowed to use my LaPlume markers. She saw this amazing image that I printed out today and wanted to make a special card. The image is Angel Maggie by Humble Pie, they are from Phebe's store The Town Scrapper. I think that the card speaks for itself. My daughter has made it for Phebe, and I am to deliver it to her next time I am in her store. I am very very proud of my daughters wonderful crafting ability, she has great ability! She even asked me what colour Phebe's hair was to be sure she got the angel just right. I hope you enjoy her cute card!!

Valentine's card for my hubby - various challenges
Well, with Valentine's Day coming up WAY to fast, I thought I better get my butt in gear and make at least ONE card for my hubby (still need to make 2 more for the kids!). Of course, there were many blogs with Valentine's day challenges, so I tried to incorporate them all! So ... for this Challenge I am entering the:
- Humble Pie Stamps challenge - LOVE
- Cute Card Thursday challenge - In the name of LOVE
- Simon Says challenge - LOVE
- Inky Impressions - Charming (add a charm)
- Crazy 4 Challenges - Be my Valentine
PHEW that is a lot of challenges! So without further adieu here is my card. I stamped the image, which is High Hopes, on Bristol Smooth paper and coloured her with my copics. The background paper is from my "stash" and unfortunately I have no idea what company it is from, BUT the hearts were so beautiful and I thought it added so much to the image, and it sets off the red heart on the little girls bottom. I used my nestabilities to cut and emboss the background. Behind the metallic heart paper I used fabric paper, to add some delicate details. Also I added the charm that simply says "LOVE" with a piece of red wire that I attached with a red metallic brad. The cardstock that I used is from Stampin Up.

My daughter's Valentine Card
So my daughters both wanted to make their own Valentine's Day cards. For them I cut hearts out on my Cricut, I let them pick whatever stamps they wanted for their cards, and they BOTH picked the same images! They have yet to put their classmates names on the cards and sign them, but that is ok. For the Monkey on the vine my daughter wanted to ink the outside edge of the card, she did NOT want it on the other one. They are so proud of the cards, and they are 100% their own! It is their ideas, their colouring, totally their work! I am very proud of them and I am sure that their classmates will LOVE them!
Cards for Kayla - Giving to others
One of the many joys in my life is giving to others. While looking through one of the blogs/sights that I frequent posted about a brave little girl name Kayla. This sweet little girl and her family are clinging to hope ... you see Kayla was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, BUT that is not all just two days BEFORE her father Jimmy, was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. This all happened just days before Christmas in 2008. Both father and daughter are battling for their lives! How much can one family take??Sweet little Kayla is in the hospital with neutropenic {no immune system}, and has bacteria in her blood ... she can not go to school ... see her friends ... play with others!
As a parent this breaks my heart!!The plea that has been given is to send this little angel some "sunshine" a card ... some stickers ... nothing much just a little something to show that others care.
How could I say no?? My daughters helped with this cute card. The image is High Hopes, and the cardstock is Stampin Up. I added bright flowers with pink brads (as pink is Kayla's favorite colour). I coloured the image in bright and warm colours with my copics. I used my Dalia Nestabilities in the for the background. My daughters also made her a few cards and picked out some stickers to send to her. If you are interested in sending Kayla a card, and to get more information you can look at My Organized Choas blog.
It is amazing what one simple act can do for your soul and brighten the day of a beautiful child!
Let me know if you send something... lets help brighten her day!!

Having a baby?? NO not ME!! - Humble Pie Challenge
I have a few friends that are expecting babies in the near future. I finally completed their cards! I made them both the same ... so I am posting only one picture! The image and the sentiment are from High Hopes. The flower is from my stash as is the DP. I am sure they will love it ... sorry it has been so long since my last post ... but things have been CRAZY here!!! And I was working FT for a while ... that really cut into my scrapping time!! The Humble Pie Blog challenge for this week was to use flowers ... how perfect!! The more I look at my card ... the more I like it! Simple but perfect! Thanks for lookin!

Pink Elephant Challenge #40 AND Humble Pie Stamps
For the Pink Elephant Challenge we had to make a card to "give thanks" and for the Humble Pie stamp challenge we were asked to make circle card! I had made this card for our neighbour who graciously gave us some fresh fruit off of their fruit trees!! YUMMMMM ... the image is from "Your Next Stamp" Of course I coloured her with my copics!! I used my spellbinders for the embossed scalloped circle. And the card is cut out using my Cricut!! I love how this card turned out! Thanks for the Challenge!!

Christmas card for our Child Sponsor
Our family sponsors a child through an organization called Chalice. The little girl we sponsor will get this cute card that I made for her and her family. The image is High Hopes and coloured with my copics. I used a natural fiber paper for the background, and a white ribbon with Merry Christmas along the bottom. I didn't add any other embellishments because I felt that the paper added a lot of texture, and nothing else was needed. I sure hope she likes the card!!

Christmas card for our Canadian Troops
Our MPP along with several local radio stations and other establishments, are collecting Christmas cards to send to Canadian troops fighting over in Afghanistan. I thought it was a great idea to send a card, and show our appreciation and support to those who wont be home for the holiday's because they are helping to keep the peace. For this card I used "Mudzie's Gift" image from High Hopes, and he is coloured with my copics (is there anything else!) I used my Crystal Effects to glaze the light bulbs to give them a glassy look. The paper of course is from my stash as was the ribbon. I added clear Dew Drops to the side for some added interest. On the inside of the stamp I used the co-ordinating statement, also from High Hopes, "Just stoppin' in to say" Have a Merry Chrismoose, eh?" It was wonderful to be able to spread a little cheer to those who are away from their family, helping to spread peace, during the Christmas season!
